The course audit took place on 12th September 2016, during the observation, discussions with the trainer and subsequent sampling of documents it was identified that all mandatory requirement were met, however one continuous improvement was identified, which should be considered by the Centre. In relation to the training, the trainer displayed a confident and enthusiastic approach to his delivery and the subject content was found relevant to delegate requirement's.
The course audited was delivered at the Centre's head office in Long Eaton on the 12th September 2016, where adequate welfare facilities were available. The course Attendance & Registration Record was completed prior to the start of the course, the layout & content recorded was compliant in line with DVSA requirements.
The training room, which had adequate heating, lighting and ventilation & was laid out in a typical classroom style with the PowerPoint presentation displayed appropriately. The trainer was also positioned in a manner which ensured that he was visible to all in attendance. The venue was found conducive to learning. Sufficient comfortable seating was provided for the trainees, text and graphics in the PowerPoint presentation were legible.
There was sufficient evidence to conclude that the Course Introduction included; a safety briefing covering Fire Emergency procedures; the course programme, including topics and breaks; Information on the fair processing of trainee data; A learning contract that included mobile phone protocols, respect for each others opinions, the course aim/objectives and a system for establishing trainee pre-existing knowledge of the course subject matter.
The Centre may wish to consider including in its existing "Learning Contract" an enquiry into delegates expectations on the course - Continuous Improvement 1.
The trainer delivered the course content in line with the approved programme layout, timings were approx in line with timings stated. Over the observed period the trainer demonstrated confidence with the subject matter and also introduced an appropriate measure of humour and varied his vocal pitch/volume to good effect. Knowledge transfer was checked using Q&A / Quiz sessions during each main topic and at various points during delivery, there were plenty of opportunities for questions to be raised by delegates. The auditor would like to thank the Centre for their hospitality offered during the visit.
